We’re excited to offer small group virtual lessons! These sessions provide an engaging, supportive environment where students can learn and grow together. Students derive numerous benefits from collaborating in small groups of learners who are at the same level and working together on the same skills. It boosts their engagement and confidence by assuring them that they are not alone in overcoming their challenges, and encourages them to take risks by observing their peers doing the same. Within our groups, children find a secure environment to learn, and even form friendships across the country!

As Orton-Gillingham tutors, we take an individualized approach to help students catch up to their peers and build lasting confidence in reading and writing.
Each session is carefully tailored to your child’s unique needs, current skills, personality, and interests. We focus on mastery learning, ensuring your child fully understands each concept before moving forward.

Services
With the Orton-Gillingham approach, students are taught the English reading code in a clear, logical progression that helps them overcome challenges and build confidence step by step. As they strengthen their skills in reading and writing they gain the self-assurance to move forward successfully in their education- and that’s something worth celebrating!

Christina Johnson
I am the mother to two boys, ages 10 and 27, and have been a classroom teacher for over 21 years. My passion for teaching reading began when my oldest son was diagnosed with dyslexia and struggled to learn how to read. That journey inspired me to dedicate my career to understanding effective reading instruction and supporting children with dyslexia.
I am certified at the Associate Level through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham, and I’ve spent years helping students gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Now, as I teach my youngest son to read, I’m also committed to guiding as many other children as possible so they can experience the joy of reading without the pain of unnecessary struggles.

This is my 26th year of teaching. I have worked with kindergarten and first Grade students and am currently an Intervention Specialist. I have Orton-Gillingham training and certification in teaching children with Dyslexia through the Dyslexia Training Institute. My husband and I live in Pleasanton and have three children. My youngest is Dyslexic and she is the reason I started my journey years ago in learning how I could best support her and other children with the same challenges. In my current position I primarily work with students struggling to learn to read, however, with my many years of teaching I also have extensive background in teaching math. I am passionate about supporting children in their learning and am dedicated to helping each child build the confidence they need to become lifelong learners!
